Elastomeric Glide Ties are made with "low friction technology" specifically targeted towards the reduction of frictional binding forces in orthodontic auxiliaries. The super-tough FDA approved medical grade polyurethane is latex free, odorless, tasteless, highly stain resistant and designed to deliver a uniform continious force over a long period of time. They are injection molded in the conventional manner and then subjected to a "hydrothermal"process that modifies the surface texture, creating a high degree of "slipperiness". This effect is permanent and significantly reduces treatment times.
